im working the whole thing. no choice unfortunately. nights on xmas eve and xmas day. days on new years eve and late shift new years day.

im off for 4 from 26th but got a new job starting sometime between jan and march - after 9 years on response im going to neighbourhoods.
different kind of shite really but no nights (except public order) and no radio!

No nights would be magic! I’m getting too old for nightshifts.

Lucky you! I seem to have copped for them all. I'm defo getting too old for this shit generally never mind nights....
I interviewed somewhat reluctantly for neighbourhoods but scored too so won a job...(shame it wasn't same for mounted but reckon that already had someone's name on it).
Anyway I shall give it a whirl. Not sure neighbourhoods is for me really but I'll see. Response on our group is decimated but they do t look after us at all. Min staffing is 23 and there are only 18 left so that should be interesting and wouldn't want to be trying to get leave! I'll miss my 4 days off but won't miss the radio. 😁

... And literally as I typed that, my fucking phone went off with an alert, some machine somewhere has shat itself. FFS. Reallocated to someone who's awake, on the other side of the planet. Good thing I was alrady awake!

My sympathy. After years of working Christmas Days and nights in homeless shelters I have a day job that means I get Christmas off.

Someone has to do it but I'm glad I've done my share and I don't have to now.

I'm in for lates tonight, xmas day and all over new year. I only do 3 days a week though, so Xmas doesn't always fall on my working days. I feel it's only fair I do my share. And at least it's not day shifts, so I can still spend the day with my DC.
