Hi all,
Waiting on NHS funding for IVF (it's been 2 weeks thus far) and just wondered how long people have waited to hear back if it was approved...?

Thank you :)

It can take quite a while Alice. The Panel only meets once every few weeks where I am and after discussion they may make their decision straight away or they may request more information from the GP or Consultant before making their decision. If you haven't heard anything after the New Year the secretary at the surgery can make enquiries for you or even give you a phone number so you can call them and ask for a timeline.

My GP referred me December 2014 (I got my letter about which clinics I could choose on Christmas Eve) and booked my first appointment for January. We had a few other appointments for tests to attend over the course of the next few months and started treatment that August. We were lucky and it worked first time and our daughter was born in June 2016.

I didn’t feel like we were on a waiting list at all.

I actually don’t remember waiting for funding approval, although I remember filling in the forms which we did after our first appointment. It certainly didn’t take along anyway.

Good luck.
