Slow Cooker Beef for Christmas Day - Give me your recipes!

So I have a joint of silver side beef for Christmas. I want to do it in the slow cooker, I am planning on sealing it in a pan first.
I have rosemary, thyme, bay leaves.... The question is liquid or no liquid? And how long?
Thanks Grin

God, I hate to be a misery. But trying a new recipe on Christmas day... You're brave. Would silverside be a bit lean? When I slowcook beef I use skirt.

@bigfarmer it's ok, it's only the 2 of us!

I'd throw some red wine over it.

Honestly, I wouldn't sorry! It's too lean to slow cook really. Can you roast it instead, make a really nice feed wine sauce / gravy I go with it?

Ooh I love beef in the slow cooker, so tender! I've only ever done it with a bit of stock but wine sounds wonderful. I don't think you can go too wrong to be honest.

My problem is that I don't have an oven at present. I do have one halogen oven, but the potatoes, Yorkshire etc will be in there?

Silverside will not bode well in the slow cooker, just nip out and get some shin or skirt of beef it will taste much better honestly, Make your own interpretation of Christmas dinner it will still be lovely op

I'm working right up to Xmas, I'll have to roast it then hey?
