eBay estimated delivery dates

I ordered something from EBay and the estimated delivery date was 18 December. It still isn’t with us and I’ve contacted the seller (seller seems to be a reputable company), no reply as yet.

Can they emphasise that the date was only an estimate? Would’ve thought it’d be here by now, it’s a present for Christmas!!

An estimate is just that, an estimate.

When did you buy it, and what postal service was quoted?

The estimates are not really set by the seller, it's an automated calculation based on the delivery service chosen. Has it been marked as despatched? If so, there's nothing the seller can do now. Postal services and couriers do take longer this time of year...

We sell online and Royal Mail have been appalling this year - 24h deliveries taking over a week, and socials delivery stuff regularly taking a couple of days.

Once it's handed over, there's only so much the seller can do!
