I hate wrapping presents

That's all really. Got a stack of presents to wrap for DN's and DH, but finding it hard to even get started and not waste time on MN Some of the presents are fiddly shaped as well which makes it even more of a task.

Perhaps sherry would help me feel more festive and motivated Wine but probably wouldn't help the full moon headache I've got Confused

I’ve just started and immediately realised I don’t have enough paper! I usually enjoy wrapping but this year it feels like a real chore.

CmdrIvanova · 22/12/2018 16:12

I enjoy it. Come put away my laundry and I'll wrap your gifts?

GoldenHoops · 22/12/2018 16:14

I wrap the awkward ones in tin foil, stick a bow/ribbon/gift tag on it and it's done.

You haven't seen the laundry mountain yet 😂

LoadsaBlusher · 22/12/2018 16:19

I also hate wrapping presents
My wrapping is absolutely terrible
But then, I am usually rushing trying to wrap shitloads whilst the kids are at school and the baby is napping so it’s like shitty speed wrapping
As long as the item is covered , I’m done Grin

Sirzy · 22/12/2018 16:19

I hate it too.

Thankfully this year ds is mainly Lego so simple shapes at least

Judeeeeee · 22/12/2018 16:20

But will it take up the next few hours? Give me laundry over wrapping anytime. Unless it's ironing, in which case wrapping is preferred.

I hate it as well. The only gifts I have wrapped so far is my parent’s because they were going to my sister today so I had to give them to them.
Need to start on the dc’s tonight. I’ve usually got it all out the way by now but I have been lazy about it this year. Going to pour a glass of wine later and get cracking.

MrsJayy · 22/12/2018 16:21

Split presents into piles per person then stick music on and get stuck in I do it i n my bedroom and it is great to hide away and it really doesn't matter if they are not "beautifully" wrapped.

Rockbird · 22/12/2018 16:23

Did mine weeks ago . I'll do yours if you come and clean my kitchen/bathroom and change the litter tray.

ManoloChooBoutin · 22/12/2018 16:25

Also bloody hate it. Have done my family, most of DH's family, DH and nearly all of DS. And then, two bloody presents before completely finishing, the sodding sellotape runs out.

Judeeeeee · 22/12/2018 16:26

Rockbird that also sounds like a good swap Xmas Grin

I'm with you.
I'm shit at it unless it's a very very even box and the paper is exactly the right size.
ribbons hide the worst.
gift bags & tissue paper are the dog's bollox.

KeepServingTheFestiveSnogs · 22/12/2018 16:45

JUST* fiiiiniiiiished. Literally two minutes ago.

The worst one was a football for my nephew. I made DD do that one ha ha ha.

So happy that job's done and out the way!

Commiserations to those of you still going. Have some unwrapped Gin

KiteMarked · 22/12/2018 16:49

In the new year, get some discounted Christmas themed fabric if you can find it, and make some simple bags with ribbons attached at one end. So much easier to "wrap" a present by popping it in a bag and tying a bow!
