French supermarket what shall we buy for Xmas

Any ideas on something tasty we should be getting! Also what are French roasting pots called... Any source for duck etc

Pear compote
Buy some good cheeses for the cheeseboard and a Brie or Camembert for baking.
Quince jam (quince is coing in French!) for the cheeseboard
Chestnut jam - so good inside a Yule log! (Chestnut is chataignes)
Dried figs
Fig tapenade or terrine for the cheeseboard
Tins of duck confit
Chocolate palmiers or sables

If you're shopping in Carrefour, they sell dark chocolate and pear / white chocolate and cherry Jaffa cakes
