Help, I am a chicken idiot

Is it safe to:
-Roast a chicken breast
-Refrigerate it for a few days
-Chop it up, coat in a sauce, and chill/freeze it
-Then cook on hob at a later date?

I had lots of chicken left over this week so decided to roast it all a few days ago and decide what to do with it later.

Thanks in advance for any help - trying my best to learn how to batch cook, but I get confused with meat safety!

Sounds fine - I do similar & never got ill. You just can’t reheat a third time.

I would freeze immediately rather than chill though if it was cooked a few days ago.

I’d keep cooked chicken for three days max. So make sure that the whole time in the fridge only adds up to three days, as I think freezing just pauses any bacterial growth.

That's fine. You're just reheating it once, and then freezing it. So you can heat it again another time.

Proper food safety advice is cooked chicken as ok for 3 or at a max (but I wouldn’t) 4 days in the fridge. How long is a “few”?

Thanks so much. I think it's been nearly 3 days. I will freeze it and next time I won't leave it so long to decide!

If it’s nearly three days then that means you need to defrost it fast and eat it straight away.

Thank you very much, will do that!
