I'm going first thing Christmas Eve and going to scan as I go. Bollocks to that queuing shite!

BubblesBubblesBubbles · 21/12/2018 16:06

I had to go into town for an appointment this morning the car park was rammed at 8.50 Xmas Shock I got the last space!!

Was even worse when I left at 11.45!

Popped off to M&S near a massive Asda, car park was horrific but M&S was rather quite, had a nice Potter around got my Christmas dinner!

Then went to next which was again practically deserted.

The decided to go to Asda!! Never ever ever again!!!!!!! It was like the end of the world, I swear someone was about to punch someone else over some cocktail sausages Xmas Grin I left without buying anything!

DoveSecret · 21/12/2018 16:10

Im off to Aldi once DH gets in from work. He’s coming with me to push the trolley. I usuallu do a months shopping if cupboard/freezer shop so this will be no different apart from extra cheese to what i buy. Were huge on cheese.

neversleepagain · 21/12/2018 16:20

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 21/12/2018 17:00

eddiemairswife · 21/12/2018 17:09

Had it all delivered yesterday, £250+; and I live on my own!
However, various adult children (4) and their offspring popping in and out, staying the odd night over the Christmas period, so it won't go to waste.

Kemer2018 · 21/12/2018 17:11

Ours is coming tonight.
We booked the slot weeks ago....this was the closest we could get.

Wouldyouorshouldyou · 21/12/2018 17:14

Mine is being delivered 😁. I had to pop in today for tampons and it was dreadful! Who is going to be eating all that food then?! Do people get extra hungry or does the population multiply for Christmas week 🙄.

AdoraBell · 21/12/2018 17:21

Mine’s booked for the 23rd, I cannot remember what day of the week that is. It’s the 23rd and that is all I need to remember right now

But I logged on to add something and the turkey is no longer available Shock so I hot footed it to my favourite butcher this morning and got it there. They are no longer in this town so I’ve got out of the habit of using them.

Incy you can all come round here if you like, I’ve had enough of what life has been throwing at us, so have decided the world can get tae fuck and I’m concentrating on Christmas now.

anniehm · 21/12/2018 17:33

Just back from 3rd food shop (did long life last week, two different ones today) with a fourth Christmas Eve - preordered for collection. Wasn't too bad but tomorrow will be a different story

MustBeThin · 21/12/2018 17:38

I've never done an online food shop in my life, I couldn't cope. I'd get so anxious waiting for a Christmas shop, I'd be worrying that something important would be missing or the dates wouldn't be good enough. Maybe I'm just a control freak, I like to do mine in advance early morning and then I have nothing to think about bar getting fresh bread.😂

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 21/12/2018 17:41

I’m considering going to Asda aroun 10 tonight.

Beefandmixed · 21/12/2018 17:48

Usual big shop plus a couple of Christmas extras being delivered tonight and as I work in a shop il be getting any extra bits I need before work one day as I’m in now till Christmas Day and I’m on the food collection desk so wish me luck! Grin

DeadCertain · 21/12/2018 19:17

Good luck Beefandmixed. I work in an online department for a supermarket and have been having 3am starts this week with huge, huge amounts needing to be picked, loaded etc etc. Been so crazy and as soon as the store opens at 0600 people flood in as well!

zucchinieggplant · 21/12/2018 19:21

Mine has just arrived while I've been putting DCs to bed. Am so excited to go downstairs and look at our spoils and try to resist the gorgeous cheese.

Lamentations · 21/12/2018 19:29

I did mine on Wednesday. My sprouts will be a few days out but I do not care.

Best of luck to all those who will have the task this weekend.

MrsJonesAndMe · 21/12/2018 19:33

I'm going tomorrow morning to get milk, bread, pigs in blankets and a few things like tissues etc. We are not hosting so don't need much Grin

VioletCharlotte · 21/12/2018 20:27

I'm going tomorrow morning about 7am. Asda first, then Aldi. I'm not hosting Christmas Day, but still seem to need a lot as I'm making various dishes to take to my Mums and have friends coming over Sunday night. Also need normal food to eat over the next few days!

marvellousnightforamooncup · 21/12/2018 20:34

I've just spent £90 in Aldi. I don't want to go near a shop for the rest of the year.

SauvignonBlanche · 21/12/2018 20:40

I’m heading in tomorrow - dreading it!

SauvignonBlanche · 21/12/2018 20:42

Just seen your user name OP thought I’d been posting in my sleep! Shock

Blimey it's just food. I never understand why people go so barmy. We will probably go to the supermarket on Sunday but 95% of what we will be getting is what we would be buying anyway. This is the part of Christmas I really don't understand.

DigitalGhost · 21/12/2018 21:04

Did mine yesterday. Got several different types of cheeses. Forgot the bloody biscuits!!

HildaZelda · 21/12/2018 21:21

I've done most of it, but will have to go back on Sunday to pick up the remaining fresh bits. I'm going to Aldi though and not my local Tesco. Tesco is in a shopping centre and for the last two weeks has been absolutely crazy. Aldi will be busy, but \I never mind going there. majority of the staff are lovely there which is part of the reason I go.
