There’s a dog on me. Anyone else have a good lazing around excuse today?

I have so much to do but...

I have a horrible cough and cold and feel generally unwell. I’ve been off work all week.
I’m having an olbas bath and going back to bed.
I need to write a big shopping list for DH to do at 6am tomorrow morning, otherwise we are all organised. Just need to feel better!

Camomila · 21/12/2018 11:18

DS is poorly (exorcist style vomiting in the night and now asleep in the middle of my bed)

At least he should be over it by Christmas!

frankie001 · 21/12/2018 11:20

Sorry you’re both in houses of lurgey. I was
Vomiting for 6 days and am coming out the other side now.

I've had the exorcist vomiting bug. 😱

No excuses, other than time wasting.

I've got an important phone call to make to a building contractor to make, Christmas presents to buy and post, a new Tom Wood novel to collect from an Amazon locker and shelves to get from Homebase.

It's not like I've got nothing to do

XmasHolly · 21/12/2018 11:27

I've loads I could be doing but as DP has an equally long list but is sitting watching YouTube, I'm following his example and doing sweet FA. Grin

Tinty · 21/12/2018 11:28

Are you a sofa? Grin

yawning801 · 21/12/2018 11:30

I have a stomach ache and I am exhausted from kneading bread to 5, 6, 7, 8 by Steps. Plus my cat is on the bed next to me and giving me the "please don't leave me alone up here" eyes between licks.

ShadyLady53 · 21/12/2018 11:32

I’ve been laid up for days now with a bad throat and chest. Feel bloody awful and I’m starting to feel really depressed not being well enough to get out the house and do a few Christmassy things.

BarbaraofSevillle · 21/12/2018 11:34

Having a dog, or a cat, lazing on you is a blessing that must be appreciated. Whatever you have to do can wait.

Because what could be more important or urgent than providing a warm and comfortable sitting spot for such a lovely creature.

The only time you are allowed to get up when in that position is when you absolutely cannot wait any longer to go to the toilet. If a bit of wee doesn't come out when you stand up, you didn't leave it long enough Smile.

purpleface · 21/12/2018 11:39

Aw, gorgeous dog! I sadly can do NOTHING at all as I am waiting in for xmas deliveries. This prevents me from doing anything else, it is a full time job. Wink

frankie001 · 21/12/2018 11:41

barbara he has just helped me write Christmas card (by eating them)

BarryTheKestrel · 21/12/2018 11:45

I have a baby sleeping on me. Should be cleaning and sorting the laundry whilst the toddler is out so she isn't under my feet however DS clearly had different ideas of how we should spend our morning. Got a santa visit this afternoon so looks like the cleaning and laundry will need to wait another day!

frankie001 · 21/12/2018 12:18

Ooh can we have pics barry?

OP posts:
frankie001 · 21/12/2018 12:19

barry totally misread your post as having a baby kestrel asleep on you!! Sorry!

I am about to go and pick up DD1 from school and have had DD2 here with me all morning. I have millions of things to do but most of them are impossible to do with DC around. I need to wrap their Christmas presents and tidy the house, both jobs that will take ages and I don't really know where to start. I also need to write a list for the supermarket shop later and have no idea what meals to plan. I am working tomorrow night and a 13hr+ day on Monday (out of the house from 6.30am), and everything needs to be done before Monday morning as DH is picking me up from work at about 9pm to go to my parents for Christmas Day. (sadly my excuse for not achieving anything doesn't involve cute pets or babies)

wannabebetter · 21/12/2018 12:56

I've got loads to do but thought I'd have a 'quick look' on Mumsnet - about 2 hours ago.….

Troels · 21/12/2018 14:17

Tons to do, I haven't wrapped a single thing. I need to make bread, I need to do other baking, and then cook tea. So I'm playing here online for a minute or so. Oh the kettle is calling, I need a cuppa too.

sar302 · 21/12/2018 14:54

My baby has the minor sniffles. It's an excellent excuse to wrap us both up warm and watch the Christmas food channel instead of doing anything productive...

LBOCS2 · 21/12/2018 15:44

My excuse is a very similar one...

I have so much to do but...
frankie001 · 21/12/2018 20:17

Well the dog moved off me ages ago so I’ve had to go shopping and visit a mate. Now thinking of going to sleep!
