Missing mum's partner charged with her murder

Just read this article and it makes me so sad. I'm a single mum and it makes me so wary about getting into a relationship. Not saying you have to be a single mum to be affected but obviously you think of your kids welfare too.
I lived in a women's refuge for 6 months due to emotional/mental/financial abuse.
I feel like these type of stories are becoming more regular. It breaks my heart. People can say just leave but when your terrified it is really hard.
Do you think DA is on the rise?

No need to think about it at all - there's a place you can know.

So 2 million people are affected by DA but only 1/4 are recorded. Of the roughly 600,000 less than half are arrested.
Increase of 23% of recorded DA cases from 2017.
That's quite a large rise!
