Had anyone bought a drone for Christmas

And if so are you now thinking of returning it. Just think there might start to me some backlash against them now.

I hadn't but was interested to read you aren't meant to fly them within 50 meters of a building. Not sure how you'd police that as ppl seem to fly them all over this town...

Good as they are nothing but a nuisance. There are quite a few regulations with regards to drones.

Most commercial ones have Geofencing, which stops them going too close to restricted areas such as airports and going to high that they disrupt a flight path.

The drone that is in use at the airport, is a modified industrial drones.

I suspect my H might be getting one from his beat friend. But it will be with the specific intent of using it for landscape photography and video when they go of hiking in the middle of nowhere and not as a 'toy' so I'm not concerned.

We spoke about drones in general in light of Gatwick and would both welcome tighter regulation and even licensing.
