In the last 3 weeks we've dealt with the following in our house:

DS(1) gets sickness bug
DH gets sickness bug
I get sickness bug
DS gets diarrhoea
DD(4) gets cold/terrible cough
I get cold
DS gets bronchiolitis and ends up in hospital on oxygen
DH gets flu-like symptoms
And to top it all off tonight DD throws up all over her bed in the middle of the night.

I'm not sure I can take much more illness. 4 days until Christmas and I haven't wrapped a single present and although I have the day off work tomorrow I'm faced with a mountain of vomit covered bedding to wash & dry while looking after DD who obviously can't go to nursery now instead of cracking on with the wrapping.

No wonder I drink!! SadSad

You poor thing! What an ordeal. I have been through this when my children were little and it felt like we would never get through it. I promise you will, even though it feels like you never will. Just hang in there!

My kids are similar ages and we have had similar except we had croup and oxygen.

I've been told it gets easier. Let's hope so Wine(for you, I can't even drink)

I hear you @StylishDuck
My three have had
Bronchiolitis in youngest two hospital trips on in ambulance
Two oldest d & v bug twice
Youngest dreadful cold and cough now back again
Me and their father both had v & d
Eldest two currently have some sort of viral thing with temp spikes, and vomiting which involved trip to a & e for one of them
Eldest has a blocked ear

All that in December. On no sleep since youngest appears to need none whatsoever.
The gin is going down a treat.

Sorry 🙈🤪🎄

LonelyandTiredandLow · 21/12/2018 04:09

For all of those whove not done wrapping - can you ask for help from parents or friends, maybe someone's teen kids would like extra pocket money to do it? If you give different wrapping paper for each person and keep ppls presents in separate bags with paper that should save confusion? Good luck!

StylishDuck · 21/12/2018 08:34

Thanks all. DH ended up sleeping downstairs with DD in case she was sick again (didn't want to bring her into bed with us for that reason). Which meant I was left upstairs to deal with DS who thinks that sleep is for wimps and was wide awake between 4-5.30.

Hopefully I can sit DD in front of a DVD for a bit later and get an hour or so wrapping done while she's watching that. I have Monday off too so provided she's better then I can finish it then.

How early is too early for gin? Grin

Our youngest was awake yesterday from 2pm until 5am. Not a word of a lie.

Hope you get some wrapping done and DD is much better today!
