Vomiting with teething

Does anyone else’s dc do this?

Ds is 15 months and has his canines? at the top coming through and he’s vomited every day for the past week. Usually with teething he just vomits back up his evening milk but he’s struggling to keep most stuff down without gagging and being sick. Sometimes no gag just cough cough projectile vomit. Also has huge very runny nappies, up to 6 per day. No fever.

Starting to get really concerned now it’s been a week so will make a gp appointment to check him over tomorrow but just wondering if anyone else has had this? Pretty sure it is teeth to blame not a bug as he’s obviously in pain and vomits less if he’s had pain relief but concerned about giving medication for this long.

He looks so sadSad

See your GP ASAP. A week is a long time for diarrhoea and vomiting to persist. It might be something else other than teething.

My dd was sick most nights before her first 2 teeth came through so younger than your lo but GP did put it down to that as it settled not long after and never had a temp.

Pain relief before bed didn’t really help us that much with the vomiting

Thanks for the responses.

Yes I plan to get an urgent gp appointment for tomorrow.

Mulled that sounds like exactly what we’ve had with all his teething previously. It’s just this one episode that’s been so extreme

It’s pretty awful isn’t it! she used to bring her last feed up projectile in her cot, sometimes screaming but it wouldn’t last long she would go back to sleep afterwards.

I thought it was a bug because she would sleep after being sick but never had a temp and then two teeth popped through!

Hope the GP provides some reassurance!

Sorry you are having to go through it but interesting to know it happens, no one else I have spoken to has had any experience of it

Normal. They swallow more often which can lead to excess mucus in the stomach which can make them vomit and cause diarrhea.

My LO guarantees vomits just before any teeth pop out. However as PP have suggested and you are already doing, a gp visit should be done as a week is a long while. If nothing else, then some reassurance that the vomiting is related to teething, and nothing else.

One of mine always vomited when teething. Was also ill as an older child when losing baby teeth.

Jumping on this rather late but I think we’re going through the same thing, did it turn out to be just teething? We’ve been on and off sickness and diarrhoea for the past 2 month coincidentally teeth keep popping through. Won’t take a bottle or eat during these times either so super concerned
