My OH is starting his firefighter training in January and so want to put a bit of a kit together for him with things he'll need.

I'm thinking a holdall with a towel, wash kit, toothbrush etc (please tell me if I'm off with this) is there anything else that he might need?

How about a shoe polish kit?
He’ll need that to buff his shoes up.

@4men1lady he's been at them already, it's his favourite past time Grin

Wash kit, etc is a good idea.
From experience (another emergency service here) I would make sure he always keeps a full set of spare clothes in his locker including pants, socks (you just never know), his own mini first aid kit, including antihistamines, painkillers, Imodium, cold and flu medicine. Emergency food that he can grab quickly if he doesn’t get much of a chance for a break - granola bars are good. Sewing kit, safety pins, spare phone charger and a nice picture of you.
I hope he enjoys his training. Smile
