Is there a temp colourful hair dye that lasts for a few washes?

It's for DD (12) - she wants to do it for a fancy dress party on boxing Day but I'm not sure what to buy that will wash out after a few washes and won't damage her hair. I dont want a spray on one. Any suggestions?

Superdrug sell quite a few good temporary ones. Stick to lighter colours as I've always found darker temporary dyes are harder to get out eg choose light green over dark green etc

Superdrug do some pots of cream temp dyes, last 6-8 washes. They also do Wash out in one wash ones. Red, pink, purple, green, blue.

Bleach London do loads that wash out within 4-6 washes. Ime, they fade almost beyond detection on bleached hair within one wash and vanish completely within a week. My DD uses coloured conditioners every weekend. Bleach London, Revlon and Lee Stafford have all washed out quickly. Crazy colour, Directions and Le Freak last forever and have to be bleached out.

What colour is your dad's hair naturally? If it's not blonde I would use directions, ime it doesn't last very long at all in darker hair. Otherwise maybe some hair chalk

Dd put a 6-8 wash red dye in her hair in October, she washes her hair every day - her hair is still red!

She's dark blonde. I'm worried about it not coming out now!

DO NOT USE THE SUPERDRUG DYES!

I used a purple one last year and it literally never washed out! The pigmentation of it was so odd too, it eventually (months later) faded to green which has never happened with purple dye before.

The only ones that you can guarantee will was out are the sprays/chalks but if you don't want to use those then I recommend 'Bleach London' like a previous poster. Lovely subtle colours, very gentle and very little staining of the hair.

Bleach London do a remover for their colours which appears to be a strong clarifying shampoo. I've never had to use it on DD so I can't say if it works or not.

My other DD with non bleached, medium brown hair went purple with Directions for summer. Her hair is still mildly purple though unless you go through her hair and inspect it section by section it's not noticeable.
