I just watched Beaches for the first time.

I enjoyed it considerably more than I expected to. I'm not a film snob at all but I'd heard so much about it that I wasn't sure if I'd enjoy it. Have you been surprised by any movies lately? Or recently got around to watching a movie that everyone had seen but you?

Its a lovely film.

Did you recognise CC? She now plays Amy, Sheldons wife in The Big Bang Theory!

I watched Beaches on tv years ago, and had a weep at the end. DH was working away, and rang me by chance minutes after it ended, and I answered the phone so tearfully he thought something awful had happened!

I recognised her from Blossom but I didn't know that she was in BBT too!

Aaw. Poor you, Clawdy. I cry at everything but I didn't cry as much as I expected, though I did well up when Hilary's daughter found her on the floor and CC looking at Hilary and her Daughter together knowing they have very little time left together.

omg im a right hard faced madam but that film gets me sobbing every time

WooYa · 20/12/2018 21:10

I start crying at the beginning Xmas Blush it even made DH cry too even though he denies it

I'll probably watch it again in the near future. I'm one of these people who still buys DVDs and my local Oxfam shop sells five for 99p which is where I got it. I'll have to look again to see what other good movies I've been missing out on.

I don't really remember the 80s as such, though I was born during then, but watching it made me feel very nostalgic too.
