Probably a stupid question - If I've got pneumonia; do I stay bundled up even if I'm hot?

I've got pneumonia. Started antibiotics yesterday; oral and IV. The doctor is visiting me each day to check I'm alright. No idea how; but I'm going with it!

I can minimise coughing up grossness if I stay very still; drink a lot and keep warm. But today I keep going really hot. Can I strip off a bit; or do I need to sit through it so I get better? I really don't want to be this ill over Christmas.

No don't bundle off if your hot just make yourself comfy

Sitting upright and clearing your chest look at deep breathing exercises

Hope you feel better soon

Warm is good as it is a sign your immune system is working but you don’t want to overheat. Are you taking paracetamol? Are you on IV antibiotocs at home?

Best to cough all the crap up.

Are you on IV antibiotocs at home? Somehow! Via a cannula and a very attractive stand. I can't really move it by myself so I'm fairly stuck in one place, but at least I'm home.

I will sit up a bit; and look up some deep breathing. The mucus is grim. It's not quite as bad as yesterday; I haven't thrown up from coughing yet today.

I've got some cold and flu tablets that I think have paracetamol in. Next due at 6pm. Would Vicks or cough medicine or anything help?

Thank you both Flowers
