How do you get steroid tablets into a young child?!

DD2 has been prescribed dexamethasone for croup. The dose is 7 tablets!

Any ideas on how to get them into her?

Do they dissolve? I have only ever given dex as a ready made liquid but for prednisone I dissolve them in a tiny amount of black currant juice

I found this you mote find helpful. I've had to give DS oral steroids for his asthma use something strong tasting they like. I believe they taest horrible. Good luck.

Can you give them in a spoonful of something thickish like yoghurt or custard. DS find s it easier to swallow tablets that way, he always manages to swallow the water and be left with the tablet in his mouth when we've tried getting him to take them with a drink.

I crushed them as fine as poss with a teaspoon and mixed them with very vanillery ice cream and my fussy kid was all over it. Croup gone in hours. Winning! Good luck!

Can you ask for a soluble form? We only got DD to take steroid tablets aged 4
