Have a guess what time Amazon reckoned they tried to deliver a parcel to my friend /neighbour yesterday?

I ordered a table for a fish tank on Prime Delivery for my friend. Should have been delivered to her by 9.pm. It wasn't so I rang Amazon. They said it would come today. Then an email saying it might be there by 10pm. It wasn't. I went to bed. Got an email in the night to say they tried to deliver... Guess what time???

Ah I wouldn't be annoyed about that at this time of year. I'm sure the drivers are working mad hours to get all the Christmas stuff delivered.

Can’t be much fun for the poor sod doing the delivering

lazymare · 20/12/2018 17:09

Poor drivers.

Heuschrecke · 20/12/2018 17:18

Wow, that's late. But totally agree it must be awful for the couriers.

Footle · 20/12/2018 17:40

Come the revolution this whole system will be looked on as inhuman.

Bombardier25966 · 20/12/2018 17:43

Did you not hear the doorbell?

It's late but good on the delivery driver for keeping going. It's a crappy job but that's some commitment.

Heuschrecke · 20/12/2018 17:46

Bombardier, it was a present which the OP had arranged to be delivered directly to her neighbour/friend. Guessing it was the friend who answered her own door at 10.42pm; but the OP tweeted Amazon to complain about the late hour!

Heuschrecke · 20/12/2018 17:48

Ah, just re-read the OP - so her neighbour hadn't heard her doorbell/knocker either?!

Julianaa · 20/12/2018 17:51

It is definitely crap for the drivers but I'd prefer a delivery at 10.42pm rather than when I am at work. We get food delivered at 10.42pm so not sure why that's so shocking for a delivery of anything else especially 4 days before Christmas.

Elderflower14 · 20/12/2018 20:51

She didn't hear them knocking. In fact her husband was still up and doesn't think they came at all.
They redelivered this afternoon thankfully......

10.42pm? Unless it is the last one, that is unreasonable. Even a quiet considerate driver will disturb the neighbours.

abbsisspartacus · 20/12/2018 21:19

Apparently they delivered a book to me Sunday handed it right too me shame I was at work not home goodness knows where it has gone

maddiemookins16mum · 20/12/2018 21:30

I had a DVD delivered at 21.23 on Sunday night. Poor bloke looked knackered, said he’d been out since 6 am that morning.

AGHHHH · 20/12/2018 21:34

Annoying, but not hideously late.

🙄 You have no idea if that's true or not. It wouldn't be on my radar if my neighbours had a delivery tonight.
