Living in a Christmas free zone...for now. Anyone else?

Just got back from our sunshine holiday last night.
No tv for a fortnight.
No mad crowds.
At home
No tree up or decorations
So peaceful here and I’m loving it.

Anyone else.

I can feel the Christmas free boundaries are getting eroded though. More Christmas songs, more chat about Christmas, secret Santa etc.

I’m not a Scrooge. I spend a lot at Christmas. Love family time..we always go to a pantomime ..but I. Just so enjoy taking time out on the run up to Christmas , over Christmas etc

Just feel like it goes on too long here
I realise I’m probably in the minority here..I’ll get my tin hat.😁

Errrm its 5 days away? I get that you've had a nice 2 week break but surely you cannot expect everywhere to be a Christmas free zone with only days until Christmas day? Hmm

Dowser · 20/12/2018 12:46

No, I didn’t mean that at all...I just meant my home feels like a Christmas free refuge.

My room still has my Halloween decorations up! I see them as multi-purpose. Grin I prefer Halloween to Christmas by far, much less stress, I can dress up and feel normal, and I don't get stupid "It's not Halloween" comments from arseholes with too few brain cells (in relation to my normal mode of dress, not my costume.) But then I hate Christmas as I've worked in retail for nearly nine years and this time of year drives me bananas.

I haven’t done anything yet.

I really hate Christmas.

Everything seems to stop for months. Can’t get on with things and the traffic is horrendous

Having a chuckle at the Halloween Decs still being up sapphire..my daughter also says she prefers Halloween..as is it’s just one day and then it starts over.

I agree..it’s the amount of time it swallows up
Probably my feelings are in response to having to get Christmas ready for a whole family...even though I had a helpful husband..it was still a lot to do and still frantic because everyone else was doing it too.

It’s probably worse now 30-40 years on with even more commercialism and hype.

So I’ll just enjoy my little bubble for a little while longer
We have to go food shopping soon...and I’ll probably put a tree up tomorrow but I’m just not feeling it yet.

I'm not Christian, my house is almost completely a Christmas free zone, and it's bliss.

For the first time in 24 years DH and I are on our own this Christmas. Not bothering to decorate. Just having a quiet week at home with good food, TV and lots of chilling. Can't wait.

Christmas starts tonight and lasts for the 2weeks the dcs are off. A fortnight is quite long enough.
