Today I cleaned my fridge

I'm feeling ridiculously pleased with myself.

I've been struggling really badly with my mental health recently. Everything has become a huge struggle.

But today, after waving ds off to school I went back to bed as usual. Then went into the kitchen to take my meds. Opened the fridge door and was hit by the usual smell and the cucumber stuck to the top shelf which ive bern ignoring for days.

And I thought, what the hell am I doing ?? This isnt fair. We shouldnt be living like this.

Took the whole lot out, binned 2carrier bags of rubbish, scrubbed it to within an inch of its life using bold washing powder as we have nothing in.

And nowvim sat with a brew. Going to do the bathroom next whilst on a roll.

This isnt a dramatic, naval gazing post but getting up and doing that has made me feel ridiculously good.

For any other fetid fridge owners on here putting off the inevitable I hope you see this and clean your fridge too.

I cleaned my friends oven for her a few days ago . She has never cleaned it and has bought another house not cleaned in 10 years

Well done OP. My mum had significant mental health problems throughout my childhood and I remain proud of her every day for overcoming it. We had some awful times as children (treatment and understanding of mental health issues were even worse back in the 60s than they are now) but those awful times are overridden by the fact that she tried, tried and tried again to eventually manage her illness.

Well done! One step at a time. Every positive action will help spur you on to do one more thing. Even doing something tiny helps. I struggle with my mental health too so I totally understand ❤️

Well done! I can relate, and that's a wonderful, positive thing you've just done for yourself.
