Gah! Absolute Radio has stopped broadcasting on FM! Xmas FM is doing my head in!!

I'm looking for DAB portable recommendations.

I'm in the West Midlands, where we don't have a great deal of 'good' radio stations - certainly not the level of choice London and the south east has.

I'm increasingly disappointed by Radio 2 and, when out and about, channel hop around 2, 4, Smooth, Signal, BBC WM and, until recently, Absolute Radio FM.

Now Absolute Radio have stopped broadcasting on FM and the wavelength is currently a 'pop up' Christmas station.

It's dire.

I do have a portable DAB radio, but it's relatively old tech, it's too large for a coat pocket, the volume goes from too low to too high in the space of one click, the reception is spotty and the battery life is beyond crap.

Are there any decent portable DAB radios out there that could go on my Christmas wish list?

Have you tried the absolute radio app?

I'd prefer to preserve my phone battery.

If I'm out and about, I prefer my mp3 player because the battery lasts for days.
