Any doctors/pharmacists? Propranolol

Any doctors/pharmacists?
Or propranolol experts?
Just been prescribed this.
My doctor obviously knows I’m on the contraceptive pill, but reading the instructions it said side effects may occur if you take propranolol along with the contraceptive pill?
It won’t make my pill less effective will it?
Also panicking now as it says may cause nausea/vomiting in 1 in 10 people.
I have health anxiety and a sickness phobia so really don’t want this to happen!
Any advice?

I was prescribed propanalol for migraine, gave me the most awful jndigestion

The side effects look horrible.
Going to give it a miss tonight as could cause drowsiness, but could cause insomnia?! I don’t want to be up all night.

I am not a doctor, I am not a pharmacist, I am not an expert, but I take it and know another who does. I know googling stuff has its downside, but there is plenty of straight detailed info about it, which I am sure would give you more detail about any interaction with the contraceptive pill. I'd give it a shot. Beta blockers are used by quite a lot of people, and they seem to do exactly as it says on the tin. Side effect stuff is a double edged sword isn't it? You want to be informed, but not frightened. One cannot give advice to take it or not, but I know what I'd do. Best of luck.

I’m no medical expert but on both the pill and propranolol (for anxiety). I’ve been 100% fine, zero side effects - apart from helping with the physical side effects of anxiety tremendously which is obviously a massive plus!

Peaspleaselouise · 19/12/2018 22:27

Ps I have a sick phobia too...but literally have had NOTHING in terms of gastro side effects

Gimmeesugar · 19/12/2018 22:29

I’ve taken it before and not really bad any side effects - once my face went red!

Dd was on propranolol for migraines for a while. The first week she was like a zombie and could hardly function. The next week she was okay but tired, then after that she was fine with no issues.
