I’ve just one 4grand at bingo will use 3 to pay of credit card I can’t believe it I want to tell somebody. Going to keep it to myself and use the rest for savings once I’ve brought a new pair of decent work trousers.

Many years ago, when I was in secondary school, I took home my annual book of raffle tickets. My mum was getting a little fed up with this, as she had 3 children at the school. She decided enough was enough, and only bought one set of raffle tickets. The others went back to school.

She was v. embarrassed to win the top prize of £100 pounds (this was 30 years ago meaning it was a reasonable sum of money). She was then trapped ever after into buying all the tickets. Probably ended up spending as much on tickets as she actually won.

And congratulations, OP.

Oh that's brilliant and sounds like you are using the money in a great way too. A new start in the new year in the black instead of in the red.

Hope you find some lovely bargain trousers in the sales - buy two pairs! Get a nice bottle of fizz to enjoy at Christmas too.

I've only ever won bits on the lottery - nothing more than £50 for 4 numbers once and I've been playing it from the start. My premium bonds have won precisely nothing.

When I was in secondary school 30 years ago, two of the lunchtime supervisors won about £50k on the bingo, which was an enormous sum at the time - we're in the north and you could buy a couple of nice semi detached houses and then some with that amount of money. They split it 50/50 and one of them bought a sports car with a private plate on it.

Congratulations OP!

Camomila · 20/12/2018 09:35

Congratulations! The most we've ever won at the lottery is £10.

I'm lucky with raffles though, always get the nice prizes towards the start.

GimbleInTheWabe · 20/12/2018 09:56

Congrats @Paddington23! So good to start Christmas with the weight of your credit card debt written off and a little extra to save for something special. Maybe a holiday next year?

Never won anything like that myself!

Paddington23 · 20/12/2018 16:33

except she was so happy she’s pretty hard up at the moment can’t afford anything for herself

Congratulations Grin

Was that real life Bingo or online? I was looking at it as a way to take my mind off things but no idea where to start.

lanbro · 20/12/2018 16:45

Well done OP, fab news!

Won £3k at the bingo once, split with my sister and a friend as was the deal! Also had a few £500 And £1/200 wins.

Recently won £200 on online spins and £300 on online bingo, hardly ever play so just good luck!

Won a holiday once in a prize draw in a night club on my 21st, had a week in Gran Canaria!

My parents once won a Mediterranean cruise in a raffle, we must be a lucky family!

SoftlyCatchyMonkey1 · 20/12/2018 16:49

Not really a win but I once got a tax rebate of £1500 when I was 18 and in my first year of uni...felt like a lottery win at the time. Ofcourse I did not put it to good use.

alexalexy · 20/12/2018 16:57

Congratulations and enjoy your Christmas Grin xx

mogloveseggs · 20/12/2018 17:01

Ah fab news well done!

Paddington23 · 20/12/2018 17:04

Last message makes no sense as other message didn’t come through was out shopping with a friend and we both loved this scarf I brought her one for Christmas as she’s just changed jobs taken a pay cut and not something she would ever get for herself. She tried to offer me cash but I insisted she take it she always drives me home and helps me out even though I say no and try to offer her money last time I left a fiver in her car and she put it back into my account

Fab news.

I won £520 when One For Arthur won the Grand National.

As it was the first time using the Ladbrokes app I got three free £10 bets and put two of them on in addition to my own £10 (so £30 total). Wish is put the last free bet on it too. Grin
