There's one just now simply named "Trigger warning" Is this a thread for people to dare to open or is it for gung ho people to look at?

Why are so many things "triggers" Never heard the terminology until mumsnet.

It’s everywhere, not just MN.
It just makes me want to open the thread, I love to be horrified Grin

I don't get it either. Particularly 1) threads where the topic is already obvious from the title, and 2) people who confuse 'upsetting' with 'triggering'. I saw, a trigger warning on a thread about animal cruelty once - highly doubt there are any brutalised animals on MN.

On the flipside of that, I've seen people read a thread that had no TW, then ask for one to be put on it because it adversely affected them so badly.

Have a screaming toddler pulling at my legs but your comment made me properly laugh. Good grief, needed that! Xmas Grin
