Can I make shortcrust pastry in Kenwood Chefette?

It doesn't come with a paddle style/k-beater attachments. Can I still make sweet shortcrust pastry using the normal cake beater style whisks or the dough hook?

I'd say it should be possible with the dough hook.

However, if you have a food processor, it's much better to make it in that IMO.

You can make it with a dough hook. That’s what I’ve always used with my kenwood. You will need to breadcrumb by hand though.

My top tip is half butter/half lard too if that’s of any use to you :) makes a lovely short pastry x

I just make it by hand, if you’ve got to the breadcrumb stage then it’s just add water and bring it together

@riskit4biscuit, I don't have a food processor, unfortunately. That would've been perfect.

This is the recipe I'm planning to make. www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.com/food/recipes/star_mincemeat_and_22337/amp

Mary Berry used a food processor to make it (on BBC).

@Stephosaur - thanks for the tip. I'm going to add an egg yolk and some milk to bring the dough together. Jamie Oliver's shortcrust recipe uses those instead of water.
