help needed - xmas gift for someone in a very specific situation

Afternoon folks. My son's previous primary teacher has been off sick for months, after a bad accident. We would like to give her a little something to let her know we're thinking of her. However, the issues are a little complex -

  1. The teacher who I will give the gift to, to pass on to her, I do not know if she will see her before xmas, so can't be perishable.
  2. the person has sadly lost her sense of taste - so I don't want to give her something that is insensitive to that, eg wine/chocs. I am unsure whether she has also lost her sense of smell.
Any ideas for a little gift would be so much appreciated. Thanks x

How about a nice shawl or fleecy throw. Perhaps an amazon voucher so she can download or buy books. Hand cream and nice moisturiser? I know they smell but their primary function is different to the smell.

Heated wheaty thing?
