Help! I can't decide which to see. Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime or The Play that Goes Wrong?
Anyone seen both? Which did you prefer?

The Play the Goes Wrong... EVERY TIME. It is amazing :-)

LoniceraJaponica · 19/12/2018 11:28

Is The Play That Goes Wrong by the same team that did Peter Pan Goes Wrong the other year?

If it is I would highly recommend it.

Woooman · 19/12/2018 11:46

The Play that Goes Wrong. I saw it earlier this year and it's hilarious. I would pay to watch it again.

Trampire · 19/12/2018 11:54

Play that goes wrong is hilarious! I'd go for crying with laughter over anything every time.

Catalicious · 19/12/2018 12:13

Play that goes wrong. It’s an unexpected gem. Curious incident is a little more...worthy.

concernedforthefuture · 19/12/2018 12:29

Pretty unanimous then Grin Thank you!

@LoniceraJaponica yes they are! But they're just as excellent, if not better live.

@concernedforthefuture if you can get tickets make sure you get into the theatre auditorium early. The performance starts before you even sit down... no spoilers but there is a lot going on on stage as well as in the audience.

ShockedHorrored · 19/12/2018 12:47

The play that goes wrong was hilarious. Deffo worth a gander

backinthebox · 19/12/2018 12:49

My then-7yo DS laughed till he actually fell off his chair at the Play That Goes Wrong. We've already bought tickets for the Play About A Bank Robbery by the same team for this year.

BoswellandForshort · 19/12/2018 22:57

The Play That Goes Wrong is so funny I was genuinely worried about wetting myself at one point.

EyeDrops · 19/12/2018 22:59

Agreed with everyone else! I laughed so hard I couldn't breathe. Utterly fantastic.

olivertwistwantsmore · 19/12/2018 23:00

Plat that goes wron.

Bank robbery that goes wrong is not so funny (:

olivertwistwantsmore · 19/12/2018 23:00

Jeez. Play. Wrong.

Shirleyphallus · 19/12/2018 23:01

Play that goes wrong is excellent

As was Peter Pan goes wrong

Comedy about a bank robbery is not funny. They’ve run out of ideas

bluebell2017 · 19/12/2018 23:06

I honestly thought The Play wad one of the worst things I have ever seen. The opposite of funny. It stretched my "willing suspension of disbelief" far too far.

I would recommend The Curious Incident - found it at times funny, moving, thought-provoking and generally impressive.

Seems I am in the minority with my opinion, but just thought it was fair to say that not everyone enjoys The Play. I love a good comedy, but, to me, The Play was not one.

BeardedMum · 19/12/2018 23:08

Curious incident for me too. The play that goes wrong is very slapstick. I am afraid I found it really boring.

similarminimer · 20/12/2018 07:11

They are very different!
Curious incident is much more serious, thought-provoking, moving - more grown up

Play that goes wrong is hilarious, light hearted, cheering, rib-tickling

Do you want art or comedy?

Spagyetti · 20/12/2018 07:32

Bearded and Bluebell I was beginning to think there is something wrong with me! I didn't think The Play that Goes Wrong was particularly funny. I did laugh at the end but more out of relief that I found something a bit amusing. It is very slapstick and a bit boring

backinthebox · 20/12/2018 11:51

Oh, that's a shame about the bank robbery play. We'll go and see it anyway.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 20/12/2018 11:53

PLAY THAT GOES WRONG

PLAY THAT GOES WRONG

PLAY THAT GOES WRONG

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 20/12/2018 11:53

Oh what a shame about the bank robbery one

Oliversmumsarmy · 20/12/2018 12:01

I have seen all 3 and thought they were very very funny.
Including the bank robbery.

Curious Incident is one of those dour and worthy books/plays that gets chosen for GCSE studies.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 20/12/2018 12:05

I like the peter pan one as well

Doyoumind · 20/12/2018 12:07

Slapstick is not my thing and I too found The Play rather unfunny.

HeadsDownThumbsUpEveryone · 20/12/2018 12:09

The play that goes wrong. How can anyone say it is not funny Shock. I agree with a previous poster get there early as there is lots going on before the play officially starts. If you want something more thought proving then choose the curious incident but if you want an evening out where your sides hurt at the end of it then choose the play the goes wrong. Xmas Grin
