If you're selling a phone would you post it and accept PayPal?

I'm only offering cash on collection so they can inspect it in person. I also don't trust it not to go 'missing' or for them to make a false claim to PayPal. Loads have asked me to post it and are put out that I'm not
! Is it not a common thing to do?

No. This is a common scam. Do not do unless you feel like donating your phone to arseholes.

Do cash in hand via gum tree. With PayPal they can still claim that the box arrived empty or you sent a broken phone.. whether you use a tracking number or not.

Nope not a chance. Cash only on collection

I thought so. Thanks!

So many chancers and their laughable offers when the first line is NO OFFERS.

I've sold several phones on eBay and never been scammed. Don't know if it makes a difference but they've not been recent high profile/expensive ones but still smart phones with a second hand value of around £100.

Don't sell outside the UK and make sure the Paypal address is verified. Check that the buyer looks genuine - not new and no adverse comments in their feedback - remember that buyers cannot get negative feedback Hmm but if people have problems they sometimes put it in the comments.

Send with proof of postage/delivery/tracking and make sure you have a record of the IMEI number so if someone makes noises about a refund, you know that they are sending the same phone back, but it's never happened.

I have bought and sold with ebay for years and never had a problem.
