So I may have been distracted when throwing all my chopped veg in the pan. And I may have added too many chillis (8!)

But now my lovely soup is blow your head off hot and I can’t cool it down Sad

DH is determined to bin it wasteful sod but I know it can be saved. He says saving it is beyond me Hmm

I’ve tried adding cornflour and water, I’ve also tried Greek yoghurt to no avail.

So I turn to MN - help me save my soup and prove DIck Head wrong!

I think that if you add a couple of peeled potatoes, they’re supposed to absorb some of the spice. Not tried it myself though Xmas Smile

When I make chili too spicy, I find that lime juice takes out the sting. I don’t know how lime would taste in your soup though.

Make more, without chilli to dilute it. Freeze some of the chilli soup and use it as a base for another lot of bland veg soup next time.

Sounds daft but fresh lemon juice takes the heat out as does sour cream/ Greek or natural yogurt.

Will try potatoes and lime juice. I no longer care how it tastes, I just want to be right Wink

I wish I could make more but this was a batch cook and I’ve used all my bloody veg. And I want to be right, but not enough to go back out in the cold!

Trick from when I lived in India for a few years - add a bit sugar!
