How to plan a christening

Me and DH are just starting to get our heads around planning our LO's christening. I'm a regular churchgoer so I see plenty of ceremonies, but I have been a guest at only one for the get-together afterwards. So tell me your experiences! Did you have a small affair with just parents and godparents at your own house? Or lunch down the pub? Or did you have lots of friends and family and have to hire somewhere with caterers? I need ideas and tips!

We’ve had two - grandparents organised everything and paid which is my top tip 😂. Both quite a lot of guests, ceremony not in a service so not too long and made fun for other children. One we had afterwards in the church hall, one was at the local garden centre which had a soft play so v useful for older children.

Haha, good tip getting someone else to pay! Will try that one 😉
