If you have to leave work early because you’re ill, does it count as a sick day?

Just that really. Say you had to leave 2 hours early because you’d taken ill would this be counted as a day off sick? NHS.

I was told if you work half your shift it doesn’t count (also NHS). This was by the company that phone to check up on you, can’t remember their name, sorry! My manager had been unaware of the rule, but was happy to abide by it.

I work in nhs, apparently if you work half the shift it's not counted as sick? But don't do it too often obviously.

If you work 51% it's not counted as sick but the policy states that if it starts to cause your manager concern it can be escalated.

Put it this way, my skiving ex colleague used to tell me in the morning that she was waiting til 2pm to go home ‘sick’ so it wouldn’t go on her record. This is also NHS and it worked. No problems for her. She also had 3 hour lunch breaks but hey 😂
