What would you like to see for sale at a Christmas market?

Following the threads about how crap Christmas markets are, what things would draw you to one?

For me it would be decent locally produced food and drink, skilled crafts and original art. Nothing that the stall holders haven’t been involved in producing. Except perhaps some vintage stuff maybe.

A nice big venison joint, decorated with antlers.

A hog roast with an apple in the pig's mouth.

A couple of live turkeys wandering around, to be raffled.

Mulled wine.

Aren't I 'orrible this morning, hee hee.

Good quality tiffin, salted caramel brownies and millionaire short bread with a short date on.

I’m the wrong sort of person for Christmas market!! When I wander around and see a chocolate brownie for £4.50 I think ‘bloody hell, I could make the whole bloody tray for that!!’

Unique Christmas decorations (or not seen in every Christmas market all over the country). Not necessarily only wooden, just original and special. A kind of Etsy market stall.

Oh and different lights - such as ceramic tea light holders, lamps, all different.

I love to buy a 'light' thing fur someone but have been seeing the same stuff for many years now at Christmas markets and it's getting dull.

Unique handmade high quality original gifts & decorations. Anything to enhance my interior. NOT food.

Urbanbeetler · 18/12/2018 09:01

I agree with all of these (other than the turkeys and Rudolph roasted!)

Local artists, sculptors and Etsy in real life generally - yes!

I like the food as long as it is not available in shops anywhere.
