Not allowed to use shower for 36 hours!

Handyman coming to replace our bathroom sealant tomorrow has just spoken to dh and said that he doesn't want us to use the shower tonight, tomorrow morning or for 24 hours after it is done!

I can understand the 24 hours after, but wtf about the 12 hours before? I haven't had a shower so far today and am going out tomorrow night so really could do with having one!

Is he being over-cautious? I could dry all the tiles and the old sealant will be removed anyway.

Wwyd - any thoughts?

We replace our own, it's not a big job. Never left it dry for 12 hours beforehand. Confused

I would follow the instructions.

Could you pay to go swimming/to a gym and use the showers there? Or use a friend/family members shower?

The 12 hours before seems excessive!

I replaced my own and I certainly didn't not use the shower for 12 hours before! It is fine so far....did it years ago...!
