Diazepam

Can I take diazepam with codeine?

Dr has just prescribed both but I didn't actually ask if I can take them at the same time. I assume I can as he didn't say not to.

Anyone know?

www.healthline.com/health/diazepam-oral-tablet I wouldn't, it says on this that it can interact and affect your breathing.

You can take them together but be careful of sedation. I am guessing for short term use in pain/ muscle spasm. Be cautious if you haven't taken them before and perhaps have someone around the first time you take them.

The interaction is the sedative effect which can depress respiration if too drowsy but they are prescribed in certain situations for short term use. Both addictive drugs and tolerance can develop if taken longer than short periods.

I got given them from GP a few weeks ago together but I’m very tolerant to codeine having taken it for a long time , I still found I was very wobbly and dizzy for the week I was taking the diazepam as well . Needed a bit of help navigating stairs to be honest !!
