Delivery company rant

I know in the run up to Christmas I'd be lucky to get everything delivered with no problems, but....

DPD of 3 parcels not one delivered to me, despite being in every time. One 'delivered to your neighbours' text - it was in my garden, in the rain. Two 'safe place' emails, both outside the door. Had to knock one over to open the door, it was pushed right up against it.

Yodel package never arrived. We're talking weeks ago. Got a refund and a voucher but it was a birthday gift, not a Christmas gift and I had to go out whilst sick to get something last minute.

UPS Apparently attempted delivery weeks ago, (they didn't, I've been off work sick and not been out), no communication at all and now the parcel has been sent back to sender, which is in France. No hope of getting it delivered before Christmas.

Why are they so useless? I get they are under pressure etc etc but really? Tell me I'm not alone, please!

Classic Yodel! Waited in three days for those bastards once.

Myhermes left a parcel in the communal lift for DH... Wouldn't mind but they were already inside the security door. They only needed to get the lift and leave it on the doormat. Lazy fuckers

So annoying! I might be able to get the last present in store but it means travelling to the next city which I don't fancy doing. Won't get delivery refunded, nor the extra for the petrol.

Had a note in our letter box from Hermes telling me my parcel had been delivered to NA21.
It was not at the Hermes shops parcels get delivered to.
It was not at any of our neighbours.
Results of our combined efforts: there is a little all night shop vis a vis next to number 21. So NA21 hints at "open all night and somwhere around No 21".

Myhermes dropped a parcel off over my 6 foot garden fence! It didn't survive.

It really shouldn't be this hard! I like the idea of Amazon lockers but ironically amazon deliveries are the only ones that get delivered (thanks to the world's best Royal Mail postman).

How government can win a few votes. Regulations about parcel deliveries with fines or bans for companies that fail to meet them. If supermarkets can manage a one hour window, parcel companies could do a two hour one at least. There are text alerts etc that can be sent.

Unfortunately it depends on the person who owns the franchise and who drives for them.
