If I've missed it I apologise!!
Just had puppy to the vets. I'm mid changing insurance providers so was fully aware this appointment would be a paid for appointment and am perfectly happy.
I have been with the same vets for 10+ years and the system has always been billed by invoice, so I was expecting after today's appointment to receive the invoice in the next few days with a payment deadline of 4 weeks, I had planned to make the payment this week as with Christmas wages hit the bank a week early.
So we have the appointment pup is given the treatment she required and I'm presented with a bill to pay then and there. Obviously I'm not expecting this and explain why only to be told the system has changed and they weren't obligated to inform us, the invoice was a courtesy and it's at their discretion.
For context, I've never had an outstanding bill for longer then a week, there have only be 2 other occasions where insurance has not covered payments.
I understand it's a courtesy but a bit of warning might have been nice, I wouldn't have been left looking like a wally because I didn't bring my purse!!!

Rant over!
