I am constantly amazed when people I know pop up on facebook

Its a small world .

Just this weekend, I've found a colleague who is friends with someone I know through sport.

I've had a friend request from someone I worked with 2 decades ago, in another county, who "found" me because we are mutual friends with a couple I know through a hobby.

A current colleague commented on a post by someone I worked with 15 years ago in a completely different industry, again in another county.

A friend form my sports club shared a post by someone I was at school with.

Not just on Facebook - I am often really surprised to find that X knows Y and it never occurred to me that they would. Don't know why it surprises me so much . It's not like I think people only go to 'that hobby' or 'that workplace' and there is no reason why they shouldn't know other people I know, but it just seems odd when someone I know from place A, pops up at place B or mentions a person they know theourhg place C and I know through place D.
