Tell me about the perfect planner

Is it too soon for thinking about next year? I seriously need to get myself organised for 2019. I have all these projects I want to keep on top of and nothing much is working, not apps, not notebooks.

So far I have:
One Filofax type folder, a5
Daily planner inserts with a section for times and another for to-do
Lined paper, grids and plain
And i should probably have bought dividers but I can pick something up later if I need it.

And that's about it. What sort of planner do you have, how do you find you use it to organise yourself? What pretty stationery do I need to make my life complete and sort myself out here?

A bullet journal! Seriously, I would be lost without mine. If you look online there are all these intricate designs that must take hours, but you definitely don’t need to go that OTT. The core idea is to break down what you need to do by year, month, week, and day.

You also don’t need the branded bullet journal notebook, I just use a leuchtturm one (with dotted paper) and a nice pen.

When I was starting out I found this video helpful: How to Bullet Journal. I think there was also a thread running on here way at some point if you advance search it.

Ideally I would have a planner to list events, appointments etc. And then separate notebooks for each different topic/interest/goal. I really liked Paperchase products when I worked near a store but now I get a few bits from Sainsburys and they are just as lovely. Wilko do some pretty bits also.

I also use the "OneNote" app on my phone a lot which is great for jotting things down quickly before I forget.
