What’s happening in your house today?

All welcome, on your own or with an extended family of 30 Smile

I’m lounging in bed with coffee and Mumsnet while the DCs play with their Sylvanian Families.

The house is like you wouldn’t believe and DD has a friend coming at 3pm. I’m going to try to clean up the worst of it but need to be realistic.

Then going to make a plan for the week. Hoping to get out at 5 to see a friend’s choir perform locally, even if I have to go on my own. Ideally though I’d take the whole family and we’d have a Christmas outing (arguments optional).

You?

I was out all day yesterday so DH didn't notice the wrapped pork joint thawing, cat had a good chew, so he will be chopping it up for our dog's dinner (she is on raw). Once I am dressed we have to get the xmas tree on its base and put into position so I can decorate tomorrow.
I am out at 11 as into 2nd day of a competition which starts at 1 and may not be back til very late if my team play well.

DH will go for a run with the dog and fall asleep this afternoon as usual. Kids not back for xmas yet.
Really should be finishing off xmas shopping but oh well will take iPad with me and do it online.

pippistrelle · 16/12/2018 09:17

Up for yoga which, technically, I'm still doing, as I'm sitting in a position which is supposed to help flexibility in my knees (virasana).

Domestic stuff, then supervising brownie baking this afternoon, making mince pies, icing mini Christmas cakes and mulling wine.

Carol service this evening, with friends coming back afterwards, hence the mulled wine and mince pies.

JosephineHass · 16/12/2018 09:20

My dh is having an overtime today, so me and children will be decorating gingerbread house, the rest of little gingerbreads, then decorate Xmas tree, probably some walk as well, as outside is sunny.
I need to cook a dinner and vacuum upstairs and that's probably all.🤷🏻‍♀️
And of course just chill out, enjoying Sunday.🌲🌞

KonaMum · 16/12/2018 09:20

DH has gone out to do a marathon. DS (3 months) and I decided to stay home rather than stand out in the cold for three hours. We snuggled in bed for a bit and now he is sitting in his bouncy chair by the wood burner whilst I eat peanut butter on rye bread. He’ll want a feed and a nap very soon. When DH gets back we’ll probably finish some Christmas gifts (crafty stuff), watch a film and chill out. I might try to get out for a run this evening.

meow1989 · 16/12/2018 09:22

I'm at my mums at the moment as I was out last night. DS is having a bottle and looking scrummy in a sleep suit whilst I watch the last leg. DH is coming to get us at 1 and we're off for lunch with friends and their new bub (provided they don't mind that DS sounds a bit like he has a cold on the way). Then we'll chill

NightOwl101 · 16/12/2018 09:25

I was ment to be in work but DD is poorly so just tidying up, SDC will be here later so hopefully we'll all get a chance to take the dogs out for a walk if DD is up to going

Clutterbugsmum · 16/12/2018 09:25

I've loaded dishwasher, dried the last of the washing.

My job list today

Tidy kids bedrooms
Sort and put away washing - although it will probably tomorrow when I actually put it away.
Cook roast chicken

DH Jobs

Make new tv unit together when it arrives later.
Tidy his off - although I think this will take more then 1 day

Having said that neither of us are that bothered if none (other then dinner) happens today.

Clutterbugsmum · 16/12/2018 09:26

Tidy his office even

Rockbird · 16/12/2018 09:29

Still in bed although I was up earlier. DH gone ringing, DDs are downstairs playing the hell out of a singing spinning fairy that I stupidly bought yesterday Xmas Hmm. Am mumsnetting/YouTubing/nodding off all at the same time.

gingajewel · 16/12/2018 09:29

We are in episode one million of peppa pig already this morning, dd1 is going to dance and I’m going to brave Aldi to do the food shop. Then it’s home to do the pile of ironing, change the beds and sort work and school stuff for tomorrow. Chicken fajitas for tea and then baths for the kids and the epic battle of washing dd1 hair! Fun times 😳

dontknowwhattodo80 · 16/12/2018 09:30

Right now DS1 (15) is in bed, DS2 (10) is downstairs playing minecraft and DH and I are sat in bed having coffee.

All sports clubs are cancelled today ( water logged pitch) and I'm thrilled to be having a day of nothingness Grin

lightlypoached · 16/12/2018 09:31

still in bed - been ill for 3 weeks (urgh) so have little energy.
might see if I can manage a bit of yoga.

Will finish of Christmas shopping online and maybe some wrapping.
Lots of work to do with DS (15) who got not very good test results in his run up to GCSEs , he needs to get his shit together on revision if he's to catch up and we are going to make a detailed revision plan.
Also have to cram for a work training course I'm doing all day tomorrow.
Will introduce him to 'The usual suspects' film later on, after being fed by my lovely DH, who looks after me so well Halo
oh, and trying to get my Self Assessment completed. again Halo

OwlsAndBears · 16/12/2018 09:32

Dh and Dd are downstairs in the kitchen dancing to the Moana soundtrack by the sounds of things.

Dcat has gone out for his morning constitutional.

I'm back in bed with a cup of coffee, flitting between mn, Facebook and reading the news.

We had a very busy week last week, and we were out all day yesterday so we're not planning on doing much at all today. Dh will pop to the supermarket when it opens and I'm planning on making mince pies, sausage rolls, and gingerbread men with Dd later on.

ipswichwitch · 16/12/2018 09:34

Who are all these DC that are still asleep, and why don’t I have one? Wah!!
I’m currently trapped under DS2 on the sofa watching Pokemon 🙄, and have been since 6.30.

Trying to put off making cookies with the DC until I feel a bit more human. I need to get to Tesco at some point today. After lunch, DH will be taking them out somewhere while I get on with wrapping presents and making cake for work.

Had a busy day yesterday (hence the Pokemon marathon), and got a busy week coming up.

trilbydoll · 16/12/2018 09:35

Going into town for all the odds and sods we haven't done yet, like gift cards for nursery staff and chocolates for the cleaners. Which with two dc with 'puffed legs' will probably take most of the day!

PrincessButtockUp · 16/12/2018 09:36

It's DD's birthday so we have opened cards and presents, now having breakfast and will soon embark on a marathon clean-and-tidy session before we put up the decorations. My MIL is coming for Christmas so we can't be absolute slobs this year! I keep telling myself the house will look nice for m when it's done!!

LBOCS2 · 16/12/2018 09:39

The DDs came in to us at about 8.20. Dd1 is rolling around my bed watching Peter Rabbit on one electronic device. DD2 is watching Hey Duggee on another electronic device. DH is in the shower.

Today we're popping into town to get some last bits of Christmas shopping and a GBK lunch. We don't really have any other plans but I'm hoping to get some wrapping done once the girls are in bed later. I may sort out DD1's clothes drawers as well, as I did DD2's last week. Oh, and the laundry. All the laundry.

Fifthtimelucky · 16/12/2018 09:43

Catching up on the chores usually done on Saturday, as I spent most of yesterday driving to collect daughter from university.

So the boring bits will be the supermarket shop, the normal cooking and the washing and ironing. The enjoyable bits will be sorting out the Christmas tree and singing in a carol service this afternoon (plus rehearsal between now and then).

If I have time I will also make the almond paste for the cake.

Jfw82 · 16/12/2018 09:43

On the sofa feeding dd (4months) watching Christmas films. Ds2 is having a nap and dh gone to fetch dad who is here til next weekend. Having roast beef this evening planning a quiet day with Christmas films for all interspersed by convincing the 2yo that these are def better than peppa!

wendz86 · 16/12/2018 09:44

We are currently all sat on sofa. I'm watching cbeebies Christmas carol and kids are on tablets.
We are off to see Father Christmas at a garden centre soon and might have lunch there. Then back to watch some Christmas films, do homework etc.

Groovee · 16/12/2018 09:44

Got to go out for my dad's birthday. Could see it far enough. I'm exhausted.

Melliejellie · 16/12/2018 09:44

Having a coffee in bed, listening to a combination of the church beds and classic fm

DH is making me a cheese and bacon soda while the baby plays in her play gym.

I want to do a bit of baking, we'll go for a walk and collect holly later

Villanellesproudmum · 16/12/2018 09:46

Binge watching bbc4 Sinner whilst drinking coffee and eating mince pies. Dd asleep until probably lunch time. Going out for dinner with friends tonight so being lazy all day.

SilverDoe · 16/12/2018 09:46

We had a busy day out yesterday so haven’t long been awake Halo going to do some breakfast and finish decorating the house (although tree has been up since 1st December) and will put on Christmas/Disney films while doing so Xmas Smile

retainertrainer · 16/12/2018 09:49

I’m absolutely full of cold so I’m still in bed with a hot water bottle, lemsip and 2 kittens. DS is on the Xbox, DH is pottering. They’re going for a bike ride to post our Xmas cards then do the food shop then home again for more chill time.
