Something very odd has just happened to me. Sorry if this is a bit long
I was driving on the M4 in the outside lane, and I saw what I thought was a police van behind me with sirens and lights, so I pulled over to the middle lane to let it past
I was doing 70mph and it went past pretty fast, but I noticed it had no markings on it - no high vis strips, police/ambulance lettering, and was also much bigger than a normal police transit van
And behind it there was a white 4x4, arguably too close, also doing whatever excessive speed the van was doing
The car in front of me- a black 4x4 and I both pulled back into the outside lane, and a mini convertible came speeding up behind me, flashing its lights and I could see in my mirror that the driver wildly gesticulating for me to move over
I did and then he got really really close to the black 4x4 and did the same
The black 4x4 wouldn't pull over to let him past, so the mini then undertook him by cutting dangerously close in front of me, and when he was then in front the black 4x4, he slammed on his brakes as if he was doing an emergency stop
Thank god, the car stopped in time but it was horrific to see someone trying to cause a pile up, not least given he was in a mini vs a massive car which presumably takes longer to stop (and would cause lots of damage to a small mini)
The mini then sped off and caught up the 'police van' and 4x4 and then the 3 vehicles all came off at the same Junction together.
It was so bizarre but surely that wasn't a really police or emergency vehicle? No one deliberately break the speed limit to stay right up the backside of an actual police vehicle surely?
Have I just seen something really dodgy?
