New Year Targets...

I don't make New Year Resolutions because they're a waste of time and forgotten about by mid January generally!

But I do set New Year Targets; things I set out to achieve throughout the year.

In previous years, I've set myself targets of getting a new job; saying 'yes' to opportunities; getting the house organised... and I've worked towards them throughout the year, achieved them and kept them.

This year, my targets were to play more live music; lose a stone; swim regularly, amongst others; I achieved all 3 and exceeded some.

Next year, I have so far:

Lose 2 stone
Take up cycling
Set up working for myself alongside paid employment

I just wondered what other people plan to do.

so I can pinch your ideas

I think I might do couch to 5k. In 2000 - 2004 i did the Swimathon, Bath half marathon and Great North Run. I visited Bath yesterday and had a fright really on how unfit I now am.

I dont want the big training runs I had for those, which is sort of why I stopped, but I quite fancy being able to run 3 miles again and have the time to do short training sessions of up to an hour.

So, thats my target. I see it starts with 20 minutes of walk and walk running. Reckon I can just do that, so that will be my target.

Ooh, yes. I did that about 8 years ago but then an injury stopped me from running and I got out of the habit of it. I really enjoyed the c25k and the sense of progress and achievement made it really rewarding!
