Would that work? I don’t want to go over the weekend and I’m working Friday. Could do a top up shop Xmas eve.

What are your plans?

I always get it done on the 23rd, and then home for good for Christmas with nothing to do!

I'm hoping to split mine a bit and will probably get DH to go do a late nighter

For those doing this, which bits do you get ahead and which bits do you buy fresh just before? I'm shopping on 22nd but worried about eg meat and veg being nice and fresh.

It depends on the dates in store I suppose. Veg should be fine especially stuff like carrots, sprouts etc they tend to stay fresh a while. Salad stuff might be tricky. Turkey’s coming from a farm so I’ll pick that up at the weekend. Cheeses will be fine, snacky stuff fine.

I'm getting some non perishables today. Will probably get the root vegetables this week and the more salad stuff later.

I have a lot done and might go tomorrow and next Sundays and freeze some of the fresh goods. Getting turkey locally and have made my get the ahead gravy.

Will nip out christmas eve morning for breakfast somewhere and top up.
