Is it weird to give gifts to class friends?

I’ve ordered some supplies so that my 4 year old and I can make Christmas gifts for her classmates. Like a hot chocolate kit basically. Is that really weird and a bit OTT? I thought it was a nice idea and something fun to do but now I’m doubting myself. (Honestly I eat myself alive about everything)

Just to give context, this is preschool, about 15 kids in his class and we are Brit’s living in America. This isn’t reception in primary school if that makes any difference!

Sounds like a lovely friendly thing to do, probably not a common thing as it takes time and effort that I for one don't have. But as a small treat, I'd think how nice it was that this parent organised it, if one of mine brought something like that home. Might be a way of making new aquaintances if you don't know people.

I think it sounds very nice. Aren’t Americans into all that anyway? Or is that just the way it’s portrayed in ‘the movies’ (films)?
