I love Christmas pudding, ice cream and whipped or clotted cream.

I look forward to lots of different gorgeous cheeses; dolcelatte, cambozola, applewood smoked cheddar, really good Brie, vignotte, Danish blue. Nobody else likes blue/smelly cheese, so I only get to indulge at Christmas.

Also: Turkish delight, pigs in blankets, fresh pineapple, Twiglets and dry roasted peanuts. None of which I eat at any other time of year.

I also look forward to watching movies as a family in the evenings and opening a box of posh chocs/biscuits for us all to share.

Weenurse · 14/12/2018 21:59

Dads vanilla biscuits and my brothers roast pork.

EyeDrops · 14/12/2018 22:01

Christmas pudding and chocolate biscuits!

Absolutely nothingShock
It would be different if there were seasonal foods (like truffles!) that were available only at that time, but there's nothing I can think of offhand that fits the bill.
So, I'm going to eat food I really like, and they're really not 'Christmassy'

ScribblyGum · 14/12/2018 22:03

Bread sauce.

ohwellinthatcasetryprunes · 14/12/2018 22:04

Silverskin onions and cocktail gherkins Grin

CMOTDibbler · 14/12/2018 22:04

Trifle. We only make it at christmas and new year (and I'm gluten free so can't just buy one the rest of the year). I make it like my mum always did, and our household tradition is having trifle for breakfast

Hofuckingho · 14/12/2018 22:05

Turkey, stuffing and cranberry sandwiches. Must be on white bread.

BrokenWing · 14/12/2018 22:06

Cola ham.

Ritz crackers, never buy them, but mum always has them in at Christmas.

Sprouts. Love them but never eat any other time of the year!

Skittlesandbeer · 14/12/2018 22:07

My own glazed Xmas ham. I’m doing one today, as it happens, for an early Xmas party tomorrow. Then another on the 24th.

The glaze is sticky, spicy and very lip-smacking. Don’t think I eat a single clove-laden food the whole rest of the year.

I’m extra excited this year, because my 45yo brother has recently declared himself vegetarian, and won’t therefore be stealing huge chunks of leftover ham. Win!

PoisonousSmurf · 14/12/2018 22:11

Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for breakfast with a glass of bucks fizz.

tallwivglasses · 14/12/2018 22:11

Mince pies. I'm not actually that fond of them but around mid-December I crave them something rotten.

gutrotweins · 14/12/2018 23:09

Peanuts. They're so fattening we never allow ourselves them at any other time than Christmas!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/12/2018 23:16

pigs in blankets.

violeticecream · 14/12/2018 23:19

Chestnut stuffing

SpaceCadet4000 · 14/12/2018 23:49

Smoked salmon pinwheels. Pheasant (we always have on Xmas eve). A full cheese board. Silverskin picked onions... for some reason we only have those at xmas.

thighofrelief · 14/12/2018 23:54

Brandy butter, brandy sauce, boozy Christmas pudding, chocolate liquers.

It's so weird, i don't drink but love boozy food.

Oratorio · 15/12/2018 00:01

Goose fat roast potatoes.

I’m only a little bit angry that I have suspected gallstones so won’t be able to eat them this year 😭

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/12/2018 00:03

Sprouts with chestnuts

Sainsbury Bakery Mince Pies

Chocolate Marzipan (from Lakeland)

DeltaG · 15/12/2018 00:06

Hot mince pies with clotted cream

LittleLlamaontheduskyroad · 15/12/2018 00:06

Toblerone
Baileys
Wensleydale with Cranberries
Pigs in blankets

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/12/2018 00:06

Oratorio trust one who is gallbladder less ........don't even glance at the roast potatoes . Your gallbladder will see it as an invitation to play merry hell, you don't want a flare up for Christmas.
Mine has been gone 4 years but I still get flares ups if I eat fatty things (the swine )

BadlyAgedMemes · 15/12/2018 00:17

Crackers, cheeses and pate. I could eat them all year long, but never seem to even think of them until Christmas.

Thespace · 15/12/2018 00:20

Stuffing, bread sauce, cranberry sauce, Christmas pudding, brandy sauce, all things I don’t eat at any other time of year.

pontiouspilates · 15/12/2018 00:27

pickled walnuts
homemade lemon stuffing.
I know that I could have these all year round, but I don't and really look forward to them!
