I have a friend who pronounces it Luh-croy-zay

Ours is called The Big Red Pot or The Red Baking Dish, but I guess I'd say Le Croo-zay if I had to.

Staub

Long story but after our last dog had a cruciate injury somehow the Le Creuset pots evolved new names and after seeing an advert on telly today I realised how long we've been doing this!

The creu part is not pronounced crew but cruh (closest I can think of in English. It's the eu sounds from "deux" (2).

I still don't know why my friend uses CROY as the middle pronunciation though?!

She wouldn't do that. Actually she's extremely well educated, so why she chooses to pronounce, what is clearly, a French word so wrongly I have no idea

@Heuschrecke You know, come to think of it, I do the same too sometimes. French is one of my native languages (though with a different accent than your regular French), and I never pronounce words like pain aux raisins or pain au chocolat the correct way when at the till No idea why.
