Hermes Delivery Question. (Well two actually!!)

First one. Our lovely Hermes guy has changed area. He always delivered in the morning.
The new guy comes at night. The last parcel was. 8pm last Saturday. He was meant to deliver some shoes last night between 7 and 9. Looked outside at 9.15 and no parcel or note. Checked tracking and they had tried to deliver at 7.30 but the bell didn't ring and no card.
It says its on the way to the courier now when I track. Surely courier still has parcel?
Second question. Have a delayed parcel coming from Amazon and Hermes tracking number doesn't work in their search box.
They have ignored me on Twitter which isn't helpful... 🤔 🤔 🤔 Help!!!!

For your second question contact Amazon and get them to deal with it. Our Hermes courier decided to hold onto my parcel for days last week for some reason and Amazon contacted them cos Hermes are shit

Your first question - who knows! Contact who you bought it from too and say it hasn't been delivered

Did I say Hermes are shit?

I ordered 2 things at the same time from Debenhams (they used Hermes) one of the items was delivered no problems. The second never arrived. When I checked the tracking thing on their website it was stuck on "with courier"
I chased it through an online chat (as they don't have a phone number that doesn't cut you off Hmm). They said the tracker was stuck and they'd try and locate the parcel. 6 days later the email to say they've lost it and I needed to go back to Debenhams (who have been brilliant and are sending me a replacement with no quibbles - unless Hermes lose it again).

Not a fan of Hermes after that experience.

I fucking hate Hermes and wish their directors the shits for Christmas.

Nothing but “lost” parcels or late parcels since October. 3 weeks on average for my stuff to be delivered. Bastards.

ladydickisathingapparently · 14/12/2018 17:55

I avoid anyone who uses them for deliveries I’m afraid. Last two times I was caught unawares, and both times I got a text to say the items had been delivered despite me being in and no sign of the parcels.

Checked my ring doorbell and they’d been nowhere near. Eventually tracked my parcels down to the same number house but a different road, where the homeowner each time had found the parcels just chucked on the doorstep on a busy road.

Not much help to you now but in future I’d advise avoiding.

I had an order from fabled (didn't realise they used Hermes !) on Tuesday , I had a text saying it'd be delivered between 12-2 pm . It showed up at 955pm !!
On other occasions the hermes man has chucked stuff over the 6ft back yard fence when the dog has been in the yard instead of coming to the front door , and once apparently left something 'half in the letterbox ' but by the time I got home it had disappeared.

Cassimin · 14/12/2018 19:15

My parcel said delivery between 2-4
Waited in and followed the little van on my phone.
It was about 5 roads from my house at 3.30 when I received a text telling me parcel was delayed, would be delivered between 6-8.
Went to shop at 3.40 for milk, took 5 mins, in that time they tried to deliver parcel!
They are hopeless

Omg, I am clearly so lucky with my Hermes courier, she is brilliant! The only time I have had a problem is when she was away and the chap didn't realise he could leave things in our safe place.

Elderflower14 · 14/12/2018 20:47

Our old courier was lovely but he wasn't making money coming out as far as our village... I still see him out and about and he waves at me!!

I despise Hermes. I try so hard to avoid them.
I've been buying some books DD wants for Christmas from Amazon. Most have come from Royal Mail. All but one has turned up- you guessed it- the only one delivered by Hermes.
Instead of just not bothering to deliver though, they got creative. They shoved the envelope, hard, through the letterbox. I was upstairs and the guy made no attempt to knock.
Envelope was open, but clearly had been opened before he shoved it through. Inside was a grey plastic bag, book shaped but squishy. So I opened it to find some sort of dirty, smelly, sharp wadding like you get inside old chairs.
I got Amazon to call me and explained. I was the 5th customer this week to report the same in my area. I was going to replace my laptop throufh amazon. Not a chance now.
If they're not thieving by forging your signature, throwing parcels in bins or bushes or delivering to somewhere 20 miles from the actual address, now they're doing this little scam. For a £4 kids Dork Diaries book. Twats.

Elderflower14 · 14/12/2018 21:09

Oh and Clarks haven't replied to my tweet. Amazon have refunded me what I paid and said if it arrives to keep it....

I wish it was clear when ordering online which courier a company was using.

bigbluebus · 14/12/2018 21:21

I thought that too MrsAmaretto. I have looked at some sites and been unable to figure out which courier they use. Fortunately our Hermes chap is brilliant. Most of the others aren't bad either, although the Yodel chap keeps ringing my doorbell to ask me things even when he hasn't got a parcel for me!

Shootingstar20 · 14/12/2018 21:25

Hermes are the worse voted parcel company. I work for the largest parcel company and can assure you that if the tracking says he attempted at half 7 and you didn’t hear your door go, he wasn’t there! Our delivery drivers still try and do it but luckily we have trackers on their systems so they can’t get away with lying
