Seventies classic! On a hudgehog (not the actual animal obviously ) interspersed with the cheese and silverskin onion option. That has just evoked every birthday/Christmas party of my childhood.

Nope. Sorry, it's disgusting. But I dislike fruit with savoury,,,it's like putting pineapple on your pizza. Should be illegal.

This makes me very sad, I developed a severe pineapple allergy in my late teens, I can't touch (hives) eat (swelling) or smell (dry back of throat) pineapple

SIL (Welsh) married a Puerto Rican in PIL's garden (in Wales) and so naturally a giant cheese and pineapple hedgehog featured in the wedding breakfast. The Puerto Rican's were initially very dubious but then Big Enrique and Little Enrique discovered the sweet and savoury delights, removed the hedgehog from the buffet table 😱 and proceeded to devour the entire thing between them.
I like to think they took the concept back to Puerto Rico and families on the other side of the world are enjoying it now at festive buffets.

A few days ago on a Facebook ad for some expensive vintage furniture site I looked at once, I saw a wooden hedgehog, with holes in designed for the sole purpose of cheese and pineapple sticks. Sadly it was sold, and the internet has not found me another one.
