Ruby in The Smoke can anyone comment on the film?

DD is reading this at school and she'd like to watch the film version. I don't want to confuse her so I'm trying to find out which film (if any), follow the book closely.

Can anyone help please? Xx

Far as I know, there’s only one film version, the Billie Piper/Matt Smith one. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen it but I think it follows the book fairly well. They are obviously older than the book characters though.
