Please be gentle, I'm sure loads of people will read the title and think "Just chuck it in the bin!" Hmm but I'm actually after some advice.

DS is very much a PFB, we can't have more children so want to make the most of him. So far I've been a bit shit with baby record books, photo albums, footprints etc. Blush and really want to keep a lock of hair but not sure of the best way to do it.

I don't want to end up with random hair clippings in a bag, I have a locket I'd like to put some in and also a little box, not sure if I should tie up a section before the hair is cut, twist it or something?

Any advice please?

My DDs hair is also in a money bag (the ones you put loose change in to take to the bank). She is 29 Grin

Maybe I should clarify that I do mean the hair from her first haircut....not her current hair.....that would be weird.

I didn’t keep DD’s but I filmed it as a more secure keepsake. I figured hair would get lost if I lose my purse, when moving house etc

My dad was born in 1946 and died in 1986 and my grandparents had a beautiful baby photograph taken of him (on a blue blanket looking all cherubic) and put a lock of his hair inside it.
I still have that picture with his golden hair hanging in a frame in our house and it never fails to move me.
I also still have his booties and his first bear (is this weird?!) Grin

Both DC hair is in little envelopes. For DS I had the time to make a scrapbook of his firsts. His hair is stuck in there.
For DD, she didn't live with us until a year old so we missed some firsts. Instead she has a memory box and I have been trying to keep up to date with photos and failing miserably and am wanting to do them a birthday book each. So each year on their birthday, I write a little note and put it in with a pic of them on the day.

I didn’t ask because it didn’t occur to me but the hairdresserput it in a little bag for me which I’ve since lost because I’m a rubbish mum

Grin Great answers!
I thought you lot would have loads of tips on how to weave your baby's hair into elegant wreaths or something, not just stuff it in a bank bag! 😂

You've made me feel better about all the other stuff I haven't done, I always imagine every one else to be faithfully documenting every precious stage but perhaps not!

When my parents were clearly feeling very PFB about me they took a lock of hair, encased it in resin and presented it to the grandparents with a little display stand. I think it's still around somewhere.

I write in their little baby books every few months or so and stick clippings in. I have a little box for each of them that stuff goes in and then periodically I tip it out and stick bits in. But I draw the line at body parts- all teeth and hair go straight in the bin.
